Nintendo Switch (or other platforms) when???

To The Rescue! will be available on release for PC and Mac, on Steam. Unfortunately there are no plans for other platforms at this time, but who knows what might happen in the future?

When is the release date? What about Kickstarter?

The expected release date for To The Rescue! is August 2020.
The Kickstarter campaign is already over, and lasted from August 6th – September 3rd 2019.

Will To The Rescue! be available in early access?

We are not going to be holding any formal early access period prior to the release of the game. There may be the occasional demo or preview, but we want everyone to have the chance to experience the full game once it launches.

Does this game feature euthanasia? Why?

From the very beginning of the project, we wanted to include euthanasia in the game. We know that the idea of it being an option may be shocking to some people, but the truth of the matter is that there are are way more dogs and cats in need than shelters can handle. It can be hard for “no-kill” shelters to take in every animal that might need help. Those that may be hard to adopt, rehabilitate, or find room for may eventually end up at other shelters that have no choice. A tragic side effect of this is that shelters that need help the most may end up with a bad reputation. No one ever wants to have to euthanize. But since we want to raise awareness, we don’t want to pretend that it’s not potentially part of the job. It’s not glorified or presented as an easy way out, but it’s an important part of the experience.

That being said, we are going to include the ability to opt out of engaging with the euthanasia mechanic, for players who feel strongly about it.

How is To The Rescue! supporting real life shelters?

20% of profits from all sales of To The Rescue! will be donated to a charity that benefits shelters across the United States. Some of the details are still being worked out, but the organization that we end up partnering with will be one that is held to a high standard of transparency and measurable impact.
